When the wall is already painted


Check out the wall conditions

A painted wall must be checked to verify the quality of the old paint. Rub it on several points with a sponge soaked in water.

You may get two effects:

1. If the old paint develops bubbles and crumbles, you are dealing with a tempera paint; moisten it first with a large sponge soaked in water, then remove it with a scraper; it will come off easily.

2. You don't spot any bubbles, the surface doesn't crumble. You are probably dealing with a water based paint ; therefore you can apply the stucco on the top of it.
